Fantastic selection of real ales, a characterful pub, and a lovely atmosphere. Our evening was filled with great local vibes!

Quiet location, characterful pub, interesting wine list
The rooms could use a refresh!!! The decor feels outdated, and the parking area isn't particularly inviting. some common areas lack the charm one would expect from a place steeped in history!!!

The room was spacious, but the bathroom lighting was way too dim for my liking.

Comfy beds, spacious rooms, great tea- and coffee-making facilities.
Squeaky single bed caused disturbances at night | Dim lighting in the bathroom | Non-en-suite bathroom design was unexpected.

Perfect for food lovers
The food at this place is honestly fantastic. I enjoyed dinner on the outside terrace and it was peaceful, the ambiance just right for a summer evening.
It wasn’t exactly economical, but worth every penny.

Had a fun stay with friends! The rooms were comfy, and breakfast was made to order with lovely homemade marmalade. We enjoyed local hikes and the cozy vibe of the pub. Great parking available too. a welcoming atmosphere that we can't wait to revisit!
One of our friends had a negative experience with the dining. they found the food quality lacking and a bit overpriced.

would definitely come back here.
Had an amazing stay in the Family Room with Bathroom. It had a comfy bed, private bathroom, flat-screen TV, and some great tea- and coffee-making facilities. The room was really spacious and clean. The menu had vegan options too, and breakfast was delish. It’s a perfect spot to relax after exploring.

The Deluxe Double Room I stayed in was spacious and super comfy, which was a lifesaver after a long day of cycling. Everything was clean and nicely set up. I loved that Graham was flexible with our early arrival too! Just a really cozy vibe overall.
